Brežice

Brežice municipality lies at the confluence of the Sava and the Krka River. It has a tremendously interesting geographic location, for there are important road and railroad connections that run through Brežice. The main economic activities are trading, smaller companies and craft, as well as tourism. Health resort Terme Čatež is among the largest tourist complexes in Slovenia. There are numerous interesting sights and monuments in   Brežice and four castles dating to the 14th and 15th century, i.e. Brežice Castle, Pišece, Bizeljsko and Mokrice Castle; the latter is surrounded by a golf course.
